In regards to my having a bad coil, I think my situation was perfectly normal. I had a hot wire seeking ground. Does the coil have a grounded housing? My hot wire was barely rubbing the top of the housing surrounding the two terminal posts. I would think that the coil is mounted to the body and should be treated as grounded? I may be wrong. Ernie
