    I guess in my imagination I was hoping that could happen.  In reality, he was one busy man attending meetings all day, arrived 30 minutes late for his talk which lasted over two hours, and was still signing books when we left at 11:00 pm.  
      I thought he was my age - I'll be 74 in February, but he appears in much better health.  His point about MacDonalds was that many people have been to shopping malls, McDonalds, or WalMart versus going to a city council meeting or a public court building. "In the corporate area people show up.  In the civic arena, people don't show up," he said.
    I stopped going to our town's council meetings many years ago when the town lawyer yelled at me severely for objecting to one of his proposals.  I have never been yelled at like that before - and I was in the Army.  That was the last meeting I attended.   Dennis Dorogi
