All,

Well since I spilled the beans and caused such a big fuss, I thought I'd
address some of the complaints;

The Orange County Fair Grounds is approximately the center of Orange County,
California, Several blocks from Orange County, John Wayne Airport (SNA).
This is many miles south of the LA county line. Yes, there IS traffic in
that area but NOT on the weekends. It is about 3 miles from the beach, and
about 14 easy freeway miles south of Disneyland. You will find Knott's Berry
Farm several miles further. If you drive about 8 miles down Pacific Coast
Highway you will find the quaint little city of Laguna Beach. That city is
known for their art and antique shops, let alone its beauty. If you turn
North on PCH, you will drive through Huntington Beach "Surf City". Their
Main Street is full of shops, restaurants and pubs. You can walk out on the
pier and watch the surfers below or have a burger at the diner out at the
end. It's always a "hopping" place on the weekends. There are several large
malls within a few miles if you like to go shopping. If you are interested
in Vintage aviation, Chino airport has the Planes of Fame museum. They are
known to have almost all of their vintage WWII and exotic aircraft in flying
condition. You can even get a ride in a P51 Mustang or their B24 bomber!
(For a price). As for sports, we are the home of Angels Baseball and Anaheim
Ducks Hockey. I don't know any of their schedules but I'm sure that if there
is a game on, arrangements can be made to get tickets.

These are just a few of the many things available to a visitor to Orange
County California. I know that Palm Springs is nice. I've been out there
many times. However, Orange County offers a different "fun time". I'm sure
that anyone who attends the GWFT there will have a great time.

Trying to put out the flames,

Dave Thompson
