<VV> Ramps

I am looking at getting a new set of ramps.  YOu know the kind you drive 
the car up on them. I prefer the car on ramps instead of jack stands (if 
it is on stands I have the ramps under the wheels anyway.  The welds on 
my old ones finally gave way.

Its been a few decades since the last time I got ramps.  I work on the 
vairs and the caravans. 

All I find are plastic ramps...are they any good. 12000lbs on plastic 
seems scary.  Looking for a steel set with a high bump on the end to 
prevent driving off the side. 

MM+J had a 2 piece ramp you could take the ramps off so they were a 
platform to sit the car on.

Can anybody recommend a design that worked for them (and is safe).  No I 
can not invest in an EZLIFT.  I don't think my garage is setup well for it.
