<VV> Gas filler neck

Why not make a panel slightly larger than the hole and install it with 
tinnerman fasteners and sheet metal screws?  In aviation, this would be 
called an "access panel"... no reason not to have said panels where they 
are helpful, right??   Just my .02 worth...
