<VV> Shifter Identification

All my 4-speed Earlies have had a chrome shift lever of round cross-section. As far as I know, square shifters only came on those pretend Late Model Corvairs, not on the real ones! :-)

I have a chrome shifter, and I am trying to identify
what year it is.  I currently have a 63 with a 4
speed, it looks the same shape and size, only on my
car the shaft is round, while this one has 2 flat
sides.  Any insight? >>
