Andy,
When I had to remove the #5 exhaust stack, it wasn't useable due to rust, so I first attacked it with water pump pliers and then a pipe wrench. All that got me was an even more unuseable exhaust stack. I finally succeeeded by spraying PB Blaster up into the joint where the stack meets the head. I came back a couple of hours later with the freon cooling spray used to cool electronic components. I put the biggest socket I could fit into the mangled stack and was able to twist it out fairly easily with the water pump pliers.

Guys,
Anyone have a foolproof (sometimes I'm foolish) method to remove usable exhaust stacks from a damaged head? Heating? Chilling?
Thanks,
Andy K.
