The fine debris in the pan is normal. Well, unless you just cleaned it
out in the last year.
The large pieces, they are not normal. Something has come apart.
The shifting soon and no downshift can be TV adjustment (on throttle
linkage at transmission and carbs). Or it could also be related to the
parts. Let's hope for misadjustment.
I would adjust the linkage to get proper upshift and downshift, then
drive the car until the broken parts cause a driving problem. A
replacement PG should not be hard to find if there are club members in
the area.
