AutoWeek magazine is in the midst of a year-long celebration of its 50th
(1958-2008) anniversary and so is featuring a weekly "50 Years of Automotive
Passion" column. The current (9/17/07) issue features 1965 and includes this
mention: "Former racer Stirling Moss is called into San Jose Superior Court by
General Motors to testify on behalf of GM regarding the safety of one of its
products: the 1960Chevrolet Corvair. Doreen Woods seeks $400,000 in damages
following an accident in which her seven-year-old daughter was killed and she
sustained injuries. She claims the car suffers from 'defective design,' which
makes it 'inherently unstable.'" In a side-bar they mention "Ralph Nader
publishes Unsafe at Any Speed." A young Mr. Nader is pictured.
