Yes--absolutely. The type of charger Frank recommends is what I have. I
don't even think about the "bad" trickle chargers any more... My mistake for
not drawing the distinction. Thanks Frank!

Subject: Caution Re: <VV> Battery
Jason and Kent,
That's quite true. However, if you just put on most "trickle chargers"
they will charge the battery up too high and begin decomposing the
electrolyte making hydrogen which is not safe to have indoors. Also, the
electrolyte
level will drop below the level of the plates and you have to regularly add
distilled water to bring it back up over the top of the plates. Better to
use
a charger that's designed to stay connected to the battery for long periods
of time without overcharging, Like the Battery Tender Plus which has 3
charging levels. As the battery comes up on charge, the unit will
automatically
switch to the lowest level of charge which is about 13.5 volts, just enough
to
keep the battery charged, but not too much to cause electrolyte
decomposition.
Using one of these regularly enabled me to get 11.5 YEARS of service (and
over 100,000 miles) from my factory original Delco battery in my
"Dustbuster".

Jason, the replica battery should not go south quickly if you have a
trickle
charger on it. Those help a lot with replica batteries.
