Joel has it right - the MS unit is ideal for doing an EFI retrofit.
It's not hard to build one, the MS I kit and relay board will run you
about $200. The big advantage is the ability to tune your vehicle
using Megatune (which will run on just about any PC laptop).
I've played with GM ECMs, burned EPROMs, erased them, etc, and
purchased Rinda's Diacom scantool and can unequivocally say that
Megasquirt is far and away a better way to go.
