Smitty Says:  Normally I just make my comment on this forum and then back out and let people argue as they wish.  This time I am coming back with a reaffirmation of my position.  Given a choice of having a car spring held in compression with a compressor or threaded rod, or having a floor jack under it to lower the control arm slowly.  I'll use the jack method thank you.  You do it any way you want to.
