<VV> Windshields

I got a windshield out of a '67 Monza coupe to use to replace my
original which is cracked ( and the crack is growing). The
windshield was stored in the back seat area of an early '70s model
Buick at the body shop after being extracted by the yard employees.
When the body man opened the door to show me the windshield, I could
swear that the tint at the top looked yellow or golden. Was this the
way they were made, or have the elements damaged it somehow?
Also, are the used windshields prone to cracking to a greater degree
than the new replacement windshields? Are '65 windshields available
as an after market accessory, or do I have to use a used replacement
windshield? Sorry for so many questions lately, but I want to get as
close to right as possible on this body work, and the body work is
progressing quickly.
Lastly, I can have the windshield installed for $65, but no
guarantees that the glass won't break during the install. They will
only guarantee a new replacement windshield ($ ??): will need to talk
to them (window installers) to see if they could locate a new
replacement or if I would have to come up with it.
