I have noticed that the bulb is "hard" on the lens.? Has anybody tried an
LED replacement?? Any suggestions as to where I might start to learn more about
the possibility of such a conversion?
Thanks in advance,
Paul
Paul - At SEMA this year, I established contact with a company that does
replacement taillights for many cars with LEDs replacing the bulb. I sent him
both taillights and back-up lights for 1965 and 66-69. He is working the
application. When he gets back to me, I will ask him about the white LEDs as a
replacement for the License plate light. At his suggestion, he is pursuing both a
complete replacement lens and a kit which would install between the existing
lens (or a new replacement lens from a vendor) and the housing. It would
plug into the same 1157 socket in the stock housing, so except for the light
volume, it will appear stock. As soon as I get more info, I will post it to the
group. - Seth Emerson
