No insurance company involvement as I only carried liability  
insurance.  I recovered the car a week later from the police pound  
after they found it and towed it there.  I have the title: free and  
clear. Mine is a '93 purchased new by me on Bastille Day 7/14/1994.

It depends on many factors: how the car was recovered, if the insurance
company was involved, and if it was a "total loss", etc. The title may
still be clean and no negative Carfax report. Also the age of the car.
The Probe was last made in 97, so it is a minimum of 10 years old. So
many repairs will be at independent shops, therefore no Carfax report.
