Being a relatively newcomer to the site I enjoy following the 
discussions although at times the technical discussions are way above my 
head. The discussion re heads in particular. As soon a cold weather 
arrives, upon starting my '63 I can hear what sounds like the valve 
lifters clattering but quickly the sound goes away.  This does not occur 
in warmer weather. The engine does not burn oil so I'm wondering if a 
complete valve job would do the trick? How does one know when a head has 
dropped seats?
