<VV> Early/Late Emergency Brake Cable

Will a late model rear emergency brake cable work on a 64? It looks very similar, but the length appears slightly different. Clarks lists as different part numbers. I have a spare late cable and have a need for a new one on?my son's 64. Can it be made to work???Chuck Prosise
