Alan,
I was on <VV> back then, I remember. This time around the discussion seems
a little more vibrant, and with the pace of change, it seems like it's even
more practical now then it was then, despite the short amount of time that
has elapsed.
Regards,
Joel

Joel,
The committee was formed 2-3 years ago or more. In fact, a special group was
formed from the guys on FastVair. Within 90 days the group had gotten to the
point where NOTHING happened, EVER. After over a year, and several attempts
to jump start the group, and the project, I shut the whole thing down.
Several people have contacted me about it off and on for 2 years now, and
I'm not aware anything has come of it. I had gone so far as to acquire
blueprints, contact a foundry, initiate casting cost studies, and make
arrangements with a CNC shop I know close by. Again, nothing happened.

I've been following the Cylinder Head debate with much interest. Momentum
seems to be building, this discussion has gone on long enough to show that
interest is pretty keen I would think.
As I have very little technical knowledge, I don't have much to contribute;
other than to suggest a committee needs to be formed of those with the
skills and willingness to contribute to move this thing forward. If <VV>
could bring together the resources to product the Basics Manual, could it
not do the same for this project?
Also, I'll also re-state my thought that the aircraft crowd should be
involved in this process, they've also got the knowledge, dollars and need
to see this come to fruition.
You go girl!
Regards,
Joel
