<VV> Need HELP ! Spyder won't start

Badly need assistance.

I started my 64 Spyder today after being in the garage all winter.  I put Stabil in the gasoline and ran it around town before storage last fall.  Primped the gas pump manually and got oil pressure up.  Then started it.  It started great and I ran it a couple of minutes.  Then I backed it out of the driveway (which slopes downhill quite a bit !!) and let it idle in the street.  Then I started to drive it and it stalled.  Started it again and it ran rough with almost no idle.  Died.  Started it again and I tried to get it back into the garage (uphill !).  Made it halfway up (twice!).  DIed.  Got it started once or twice more and it sometimes idled well, some not.  Now I can't get it started.  GGeeeeezzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!

Things I checked:  I have an in-line gas filter near the gas tank.  Small amount of crude at bottom but otherwise a clean filter.  Siphoned some gas out of the tank to see if the fuel sock was plugged.  The gas near the bottom of the tank had NO rust or signs of debris and looked good.  I pulled the fuel pump and checked it by pushing up on the rod and it appears to be working fine.

I do have the Pertronix Ignitor module on this car (for 8 years).  Could it die slowly ??  The car ran very well when it was put away in the garage last fall.  Did the Hot Rod Power Tour last summer for 2 legs and ran like a champ.

I need HELP !!!
Appreciate your suggestions.  The irony is I was getting the garage ready for my new 4 POST LIFT !! which comes on Tuesday.  Now if I can just get it started and up the driveway into the garage I will be able to put it on the lift !!!
