So Far As I Know, when bought as a unit, the motors with the plastic fans 
were referred to as "high volume".  Don't know why though.  The weight of 
the plastic, the shape of the fins, the output of the motor (my guess is 
that one), some other reason?  For a while, the plastic fans were available 
separately.  More recently, only with a new motor.  Don't know if that is 
even still available.  Many GM cars use/used the same of very similar 
fan/motor.  The mount holes will match up, but there may be a round hole 
about an inch in diameter which would need to be plugged for Vair use.
