Brought the 65 home in pieces when I bought it. I can still smell that
smell. Blew out every nook, cranny and crevice 20 times before reassembly.
Probably got 20 gallons of "leftovers" out of it. Under the dash over the
weekend what did I STILL find? Mud dauber traces! Most of the smell is
gone, but once in awhile..........I still get the drift. Or maybe its just
a malfunctioning olfactory organ.

You might just have a left over mouse house (or some other critter's
bathroom) hiding some place. When the sun warms it, the odor comes back.
You could go searching or wait till it is baked into oblivion.

I have been driving my musty 69 conv this week and picked up my 11 yr old at
school in it. I asked her if it smelled like before and she couldn't pick
up the smell (she COULD before). I basically store it with the top down all
year around and I guess it can be 'aired out' over time. Put the top up and
let it heat up in the sun and the smell comes back?? Go figure.
