Hi all, over the weekend I installed a set of Velvetouch brake shoes in my
'64 in '60's clothing daily driver.
It made a huge difference.
Before, the pedal pressure needed was too high, and was really noticeable
when making repeated applications. I haven't had another Corvair that was
like this, so I think it was just glazed shoes, or a bad compound shoe.
After, the pedal is high and hard, but gives a tiny bit on initial
application then gets grippy as you press harder, kind of like velvet...
Nice.
My question is this: Since the Velvetouch shoes are metallic, do I need to
change the front wheel cylinders and the master as Chevy did on the metallic
brake option?

yea, Vairily ... Shaun
