...yes,Garth *should* chime in...Frank, * I think* if the flywheel is put on a lathe and centered,then pinned near the rivets (maybe just 3,120* spaced..) ,welding with stick alloy for (nodular ?) cast iron to hi-tensil steel,and cooling slow would last 'forever'...I did one years ago (never ran it,tho..) with Certanium (brand) rod for stainless ,as SS filer runs nice on steel,and I've had good luck using it on cast iron too...your local welding supply should help you with stick rod selection...mig doesn't have wire for cast iron (that I know of),and tig will bring up the porosity in iron... furnace brazing the rivet areas would probably work,so it's heated uniformly,but may warp the pieces in spots...Tom Z,acorns,former weldor/fabricater
