Subject: <VV> New toy arrived !
Remember my posting (new toy on the horizon, Feb 25th) ? well, the
Greenbrier just arrived to Guadalajara after a 1,712 miles trip. It was not
possible to make the trip driving it, not because her fault but, due to
customs burocracy.
She made the trip from Arroyo Grande, CA to Calexico, CA on a friend's
flat bed. While at Calexico, I worked 2 days on she to get her driveable.
Made her first trip (after 23 years parked) from Calexico's place to my
friend's home in Mexicali (15 miles) like if it was parked the day before.
Unfortunately, they changed the customs administrator at Mexicali so, a big
delay on paper work took place. Let her on my friend's custody (like on a
safe vault) and I flew back to Guadalajara.
My friend and his broker made the paper work, sent the brier on a trailer
truck and it finally arrived to my place where, after unloading, at a key
turn, it started surprisingly easy. Drove it around the block and stored it
in my workshop (aka "the cave").
Now, I hope to finish my working season quickly to start playing
(working) seriously with my new toy.
