Don't forget that the condenser inside the distributor is also a
capacitor, just like the "coil" (if you are still running points) --
similar failure mode with similar symptoms ...

Also, high speed ignition miss under load has a similar feel to lean
misfire -- Seth's Wires can be a solution. Big coils need big wires.

or (five sizes available in the drop down window Style "G")

or for six sizes in style "A"

Bigger Ace Hardware stores in the Northwest have been showing a good
selection of this sort of stuff, but my favorite is an Xcelite
screwdriver with reversible blades -- your local electronics supplier
would probably be the most likely source. Since this was mostly a GM
phenomena, one could always try the local Chevy House.

other name brands -- Craftsman, Stanley, Mac, Klien, Greenlee

or Google for 'em --

Evil-Bay item #160098373087 is not the right size for this application

One would probably like to have a heavy duty bit that could be used with
you hammer driven impact tool

Not the same as butterfly sockets used for some newer hydraulic, A/C and
plumbing fittings, tie-rod ends, O2 sensors and diesel injectors

Drive On!
