Automotive condensers are painted for aesthetic reasons ONLY! Manufacturers
don't want that thing showing through the grille!

Most every aluminum core radiator I have seen has no paint on the core,
just aluminum color. Aluminum fins on A/C condensers in cars I have seen
black and plain. Aluminum condensers in home units are typically not
painted, just plain. Maybe the condensers in cars are painted for
corrosion protection only?

protection and appearance. Some hi-perf radiators I've seen on Overhaulin
and such are bare aluminium.
