Your submission has been reviewed and rejected. <very big grin> I have
been going to conventions and conferences several times a year for the past
40 years. Still do, even in retirement. Never, ever, ran into this
requirement. It's silly since they have to verify the card number
anyway. Those who minimize the risk of identity theft are living in a
decade that has long past.
Now, I believe Harry when he says that he was blind-sdied with this. It's
not his fault. I happen to like Harry very much, he's a gentleman and a
very effective manager of our club. I'm behind him 100%.
I will not let this irritation with the hotel's policy affect my attendance
or enjoyment of the convention. If rattling a few corporate cages at BW -
Central doesn't work then I'll send them a check.
My only reason for writing initially was to add my experience to what many
others have had -- that of never encountering this policy before. I was
not challenging anyone else's experience, just reinforcing what the
majority have reported. Maybe rejecting those experiences out of hand
("you haven't been to many conventions") was a little over the top? Your
mileage may vary. <grin>
