According to the regulations on their website:

3.1. The event is a road rally for cars manufactured 25 years or older, and
are insured and legal for road use. All other cars may be
submitted for consideration on an individual basis. Teams will be using a
time-speed-distance rally format and will be scored. Teams
may elect to participate for fun or in competition. The route is designed
for each participant to legally and safely travel the public
highways and road.

This means there should be a thousand or so of us entered in the North
America version of the Great Race 2008.
