Autocross report;

Early beats Late!

Michael and I went to Grissom Air Force Base today (Saturday) for testing; his new 12/1, 3100 engine and my new 8/1 ,3100 turbo engine.
30% chance of scattered showers. It rained nearly all day except for a brief time during lunch when I was lured into changing back to slicks; of course, as soon as I was done it really poured.
   I ran some old rain tires in the morning mild rain and was second fastest overall in the Thomas/Roe car.four wheel drive was fastest.
The Gibsons were there to watch and ride in the rain with us.
   Michael was on 12" wide slicks, so really had no chance at all. I did offer him my rains though.
    In the afternoon session, there were puddles so huge that we were totally blinded by splash three times on the course. We both made 1 run and quit.
   Same forecast for tomorrow, so we dummies are going back, hoping for a fair match up and to try to learn something from our testing..
   I will be at Grissom for the National tour next weekend with the SCCA legal 2700 Stinger; after all, wet concrete should be the same as cold , sandy, slick asphalt at the Nationals.
