<VV> Fly wheel question

I've had real good luck bolting my own.I DO have a local shop that
balances it for me. I use the 5/16-24 grade 8+ bolts and self locking
nuts. This means I need to grind some off the heads of the bolts when
finished, hence the need for balancing.
I start by drilling off the heads of the rivets from the engine side of
the flywheel. Center punch the rivet head and drill a small hole to
start, say 1/16" or so maybe a 1/4" deep. No need to go all the way
through. Now use a 5/16" drill bit. Just drill enough to get the head
to pop off. Now drive the rivet out using a punch almost 5/16" diameter.
If the rivets come out easily, the holes are wallowed out. Stop, as you
need to have the ability to center the parts. Do a maximum of 4 rivets a
a time, 15 minutes apart if it were a clock face. This will keep
everything in alignment (if it was to start...)
Install the new bolt with the head toward the engine and the nut up
inside the recess on the pressure plate side. I try to keep a flat of
the bolt head parallel to a line tangent to the flywheel. This is to
allow easier grinding for clearance to the lower bellhousing bolts.
Torque to 18 - 20 ft-lbs ( or whatever the instructions say that came if
you buy a bolt kit). Grind a bevel on all the bolt heads evenly for
clearance.
