Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
I got my 61 Rampside with a 3-speed around 15 years ago.
I never knew it was "different" than any other stick shift untill it was
pointed out to me.
Silly me I just got in and drove it..............never a problem.

My 63 Greenbrier shifts fine as well, that ones a 4-speed.

Don't overthink things.........just do it!
