Fingernail polish is used by some model makers as custom paint. Reduce it and air brush it on. I remember the first time I saw my wife (the first one) use nail polish to fix a run in her hose.
As for the blue or red in the grille bar, I use model airplane paint.
I discovered way back in my model car building days that my mom's nail polish remover would also clean my paint brushes. Mostly acetone then.
