Thanks Bob, That would be the next place I would have looked, I own your
book (and nearly all other Corvair books) but sometimes it's hard to
find what you need when you have a pile of a dozen books and you know
it's in one of them.

Well, for one place, it's in my book, THE CLASSIC CORVAIR. The distance
you move the half-ball up the shaft is 29/32 inches. Distance from the
tip of the shaft to the bottom of the ball is then 2-59/64 in.
