Scotty,
I installed a hands control kit on a friend's car, back on 1982, but, his car had power brakes. I tested it and worked fine but, if my memory serves well, the pushing for hand braking was just adequate and I think it could require a big effort on the right hand if installed on a Corvair, unless you modify it to power brakes. That kit was easy to install ( 1 hour or so following the printed info) . Hope modern kits could work fine on non-power brakes' cars.

<<I maybe didn't say it right. The left hand handles the steering; the left
leg (which works) does the clutch; the right leg--now that's where I have
problems. The right hand does the shifting but that doesn't take much
time--leaving the right hand free for gas and brakes. I have seen hand controls used
for right-hand operation of the gas and brakes but the makers turn up their
noses when I can't prove that I'm a wheelchair case.
