<VV> second-third load spring question

Thanks to Tom, Andy, Seth, and George for feedback.  This weekend I will
disassemble the shifter base and look to see if all is well in there.
I'll let everybody know what I find...

Hi all.

	Memory loss!  I have a real nice chrome 4 speed shift lever in
my stash I want to use to replace the ugly duckling presently installed.
I checked its operation and it moves freely with no play but also
doesn't seem to be spring loaded toward the 3-4 side of the "H" pattern
like the installed shifter.  I can't see a place for a spring in
there...  
	Where is the spring supposed to go?
