What do you call an excessive cooldown? Shroudless in IL with not many
(any?) long downhill runs.
Head temp stays in the 275 - 300 - 325 (rarely) range at highway speeds. If
it drops by 50 degrees, is that excessive? Over what time period? A
minute, two, five - 20 seconds?
That is about the most I see it change - and relatively gradually - a couple
of minutes or more when slowing for a toll booth. I often back out of the
throttle a bit a half mile or more before the booth.
I could see a possible concern in mountainous areas, but those drivers are
probably already aware of the potential problem. I don't see it being a
concern for a large % of Vair owners.
Also, someone mentioned a water splash could crack something. I seriously
doubt it.
