<VV> oil leak

I guess its time to learn about the Corvair drivetrain--Gonna start this 
weekend to remove mine from 66 corsa vert--car had oil leak on the seal 
between diff and block since i bought it--2000 miles on fresh rebuild by 
prior owner--have the books but any helpful info for a guy working alone?
