<VV> looking for a little help with vin #

Dave,
The VIN for a '65 is on the left hand side rail in the engine compartment, by the battery. There is also a hidden VIN under the front suspension crossmember if I recall correctly.
And if I can offer some free advice (guaranteed to be worth every penny you paid for it), you might want to buy the 1965 chassis shop manual. This information is on page 0-2. There are lots of books and manuals to help you with your Corvair, but IMHO, the Chassis Shop Manual (and Supplement if necessary) is the first one you should buy. With the shop manual in hand, you too can look like an expert here on VV. DAMHIK.
