<VV> Paint for 64 Finned Drums?

I always wire brush them followed by a thin layer of the cheapest black 
paint I have on hand.    Looks good, and doubt there is enough to make any 
difference to cooling ability.   Sure some will come off with the rim, but 
not noticeable when the rim goes back.
