Ed, does your 68 have the "Impala" type 3 spoke
steering wheel? I've only seen one 68 with this wheel
on a Corvair, which had a Chevy bowtie instead of the
"Impala" nameplate on the center medallion. Caprices
and Malibus also had this wheel.

I think that was one of the nicest steering wheels on
a Chevy of all time. I am in the process of restoring
a '67 Impala SS wheel with chrome spokes and horn
buttons on the top 2 spokes, and I think (and hope!)
it will fit on my 69 Monza's column. I have the
standard Monza wheel which has a center button and
brushed aluminum spokes, but it's not as convenient to
operate the horn nor is it as classy looking as the
Impala Super Sport wheel.

I got the wheel for $3.00 on e-bay with lots of
cracks, I repaired it with heavy duty epoxy, sanded,
primed and painted it to match my car's interior
(black). It looks pretty decent (but not
professionally restored) and a leather cover will make
it look pretty good when it's finished...Bill H.

I have a 68 monza coupe with the deluxe wheel. It also
has the dessert
air
cleaner and h/d.suspension.I have found the H/d susp.
code, but is
there a
code for wheel \air cleaner on the body tag ? I also
have the
protecto-plate.
How do you de-code those #s ?
