<VV> correction and question #3

Question 3 has anyone attempted to modify a LM steering column with a 
solid shaft to be shock absorbing or did Chevrolet do it to the later 
68-69? Or is this too early for the shock absorption modification 
that GM and others had to do? If anyone has I like to hear how you did it.
