Thanks to all who contributed information and ideas to the brake light 
question.  Special thanks to Frank Duval For his detailed information and 
encouragement.  I was able to remove the turn signal switch, disassemble it, 
clean it, reassemble and replace it.  What's even better is that I now have 
break lights.
