Smitty Says:  The feature article describing Pinkey was in the Jan 89 Communique.  It describes the car as project XP709.  It was the first Corvair convertible and was a creation of Harley Earl for his wife.  It featured an electric, self latching top and a Raintronic system wich would raise the roof and side glass if a drop of rain fell on a sensor pad.  Also had electric door locks, power seats, AC and many courtesy lights.  The interior of course was custom and plush.  It was updated later with a 62 front panel and other changes.  Salt damage from wintering on the Florida coast insured its eventual disolving into terminal rust.
