<VV> Chevy related, but not Corvair

Would the solid rear cause the car to "yaw" like a plane in a side wind ?
I have seen many cars like this (with and without solid axles) kind of
sidling down the road, with the driver oblivious that he (or she) is in a
constant left, or right, turn.
If the centerline of the car is not perpendicular to the rear axle, it can
do this.
However, don't expect people to even know what you mean if you try to tell
that their car is driving sideways. They won't, and they will roll up their
window and quickly drive away, giving you a strange look.
Especially if they're driving a new Mercedes or Volvo, which they both were,
before I learned not to bother anyone about it anymore.
The real problem was, of course, in the 60s, when Corvairs would get "fixed"
by mechanics who would work on the Corvair's rear suspension, and just slap
it together without checking the alignment.
These mechanics also "fixed" the front tires by putting the "correct" 28 lbs
in them.
Many lawsuits later, GM was blamed, and the rest is history.
So the worst that happens now is they check the rear axle alignment which
probably won't even be noticable, even to a discerning driver ?
