<VV> Winter beater driving & question

Guys,
I will not generally post something without it's being significant to an existing thread; but my 43 (44?) year old (winter beater) 63 Monza fired up & got me to work at 13 below zero today.  In a 4 mile drive the heater even got it comfortable inside.

However, for the past week or so the door will not latch correctly.  I have to hold the button down to get it to latch on the first click, then bump it to final latch.  I don't think this is the broken plastic part - is it?
