My score... bought 2 on eBay sold 1. Have always been happy with my buying and selling experience on eBay. I have some basic rules that I abide by because they work for me.
Number 1, if you are selling a car, first find about 3 or 4 like it and watch them. If they don't bring bids you would be happy with then yours probably won't either. The closer the seller is to you the more accurate his results are as a guide to what yours will be.
Number 2, while observing cars like yours, also observe the seller. If he doesn't have lots of positive feedback for selling cars, disreguard his results as they are not a good indicater of what your experience will be. Disreguard positive feedback a seller has received for buying teddy bears.
Number 3, I never use a reserve or buy it now if I sell on eBay, my opening bid is what I would be happy with. If 2 people want the item, it is extra money for me. The reason I abide by this rule is eBay charges for each listing, I believe listing and not selling is a waste of money.
Number 4, lots of pictures with a digital camera.
Number 5, when an eBay member asks a question, answer it in the listing. Others may be planning to ask that question too. About half way thru the auction add the number of watchers to your listing. You don't want a watcher thinking he is the only one. It usually makes him think it is worth less. Remember the person asking a question is usually a watcher. Not all watchers are buyers, some are sellers measuring the market.
