<VV> What's going on with the CORSA Online Classifieds? (almost no
Corvair content)

Bryan (or someone else):
A spammer has gotten someone's CORSA member number and is using it to
spam the living sh*t out of the CORSA online classifieds.
If these spams are all being submitted under one member ID, would it be
possible to filter ads submitted under that member ID for awhile? If
the spammer has written a program to bombard the website with sequential
member IDs until one is found that works, could we filter ads submitted
to the site for words like Viagra, Cialis, and Phentermine, or even
submissions from the spammer's IP address (assuming it doesn't change)?
I know filtering for specific words will lead to a follow-up situation
where we'll see ads demonstrating the 73,000 different ways to spell
Viagra (e.g., Vi at gra, v.i.a.g.r.a, v1agra, etc.), but the ads are
getting pretty abusive and it would seem we should do *something*. I
counted 21 of them from yesterday alone.
Unless some of our dopier members are actually buying boner pills from
spammers, I can't think how anyone could be hurt by filtering these out.
Also, I was pretty annoyed by one of those guys from Arizona who's
trying to sell his house on the CORSA online classifieds. He's not a
spammer, but he should know better. Perhaps his member ID should be
filtered for a while as well.
Maybe I'm just in a prickly mood (pun intended TLH) because my Corvairs
are off the road until the end of the salt season.
