That's interesting.  My Falcon dual CHT gauge (as far as I remember)  
said nothing about removing the plug gasket.  I have my senders  
sandwiched between the gasket and the plug base on the #'s 3 and 4  
cylinders.  I chose this method because it kept the senders on the  
plugs as they were lowered into the shroud before threading.  I have  
driven the car over 2000 miles and not noticed any adverse effects.
