<VV> Corsa Cove Color Code

Replying to something out of the archives... Just wanted to mention that I
noticed last night, on the back of an original 1965 Ditzler paint chip
chart, that Argent Silver is listed, DQE-8568, as being for the front bumper
valence panel on full-sized Chevys and the two-tone rear engine grille on
Corvair Monzas. While this does not specifically mention the Corsa rear
cove, I think we can be comfortable in assuming that the same color was used
there.

FWIW: I have some 28-year-old Duracryl DDL-8568 acrylic lacquer that came to
me with a car I purchased several years ago. The can says "Non Smudge
Aluminum". The formula number and name are printed on the label "from the
factory", not penciled in. Meaning, that this was a pre-mixed color on a
paint store's shelf. Perhaps this alternate name might be helpful.

Has anyone had success finding a DBC- or DBU- version of this color?

Harry and Matt are right. Argent Silver was used for years in the GM
line. In my 1970 GM PPG sheets it is listed as a wheel color.

PPG code originally was DQE-8568 for alkyd enamel. PPG (Ditzler)
suppliers used to stock this in premixed quarts.

Usually you just change the prefix to the type of paint you want, so a
base coat urethane should be DBC-8568.

Acrylic lacquer if you could find it would be DDL-8568.

Argent means silver, but in '57, there was a Chevrolet color called
Argent Silver, that is a dead ringer for the Corsa cove color.
