I agree with Mark. Hagerty should not have published this article.
I have Hagerty insurance, and I haven't decided yet if it's worth changing
to another carrier over this, BUT...
Imagine, if you will, that your home insurance carrier published an article
stating that all the houses in your neighborhood were ugly. Do you think
that would affect your resale value?
Then, imagine that Business Week picked up that article and republished it,
and allowing others (not experts, just whoever wanted to add their two
cents) to state their opinion that the houses are firetraps. These opinions
are published along with the "ugly" article in a nationally available
magazine.
This is basically what has been allowed to happen to our Corvairs starting
with Hagerty and ending up in Business Week.
